Celebrating National Relaxation Day

This August 15th, we celebrate National Relaxation Day as a reminder to kick back, unwind and decompress from the stresses of our days—and of course, an excuse to do these things is always welcome!

Lounge around the pool

Nothing beats a relaxing morning or afternoon around the pool. You can turn on your favorite music and float around, or catch up on your reading on a poolside lounge chair.

Enjoy your sunroom

If you have a sunroom attached to your home, now is the perfect time to use it! To decompress after a busy workday, head to your sunroom for a nap or a chance to clear your head.

Spend time on your favorite stress-relieving hobby

If you have a favorite hobby you haven’t done in a while—whether it be gardening, baking, painting or something else—why not head back to it this August? You may find that this hobby brings you back to a relaxed, laidback mindset you enjoy.

Soak up some sun and enjoy the outdoors

Now is also a fantastic time to soak up some sun and enjoy your beautiful garden or backyard space. Relax and have your morning coffee on the patio, or find a unique retreat in your garden perfect for reflection or simple relaxation. If you don’t already have a bench or sitting area outdoors, now is the time to add one for plenty of enjoyable outdoor moments ahead.

The best part is that yoga can be done just about anywhere—from your backyard to your sunroom to the beach. Look for a friend or family member to accompany you to a local yoga class if you’re interested in learning even more about this refreshing activity.

Start a new routine

This Relaxation Day is a good chance for you to start a stress-relieving routine to be followed throughout the year. This can be anything from morning coffee outdoors, afternoon dips in the pool, and just about anything else—the key is that you’ll be finding something that keeps you comfy and relaxed on a regular basis.
