Holiday Décor for Your Orlando Home

Happy holidays! With the season finally upon us, there’s no better time to add a bit of festivity to your home through the addition of holiday décor. Read on for a few of our favorite holiday décor ideas.

Cozy seating

The holidays are all about entertaining family and friends and enjoying the comforts of home—and few things accomplish that better than soft, cozy seating. Add warm throw blankets and overstuffed pillows to your home’s sofas and seating areas to make your living space more comfortable and inviting this holiday season.

This season, you may also want to consider adding a few floor pillows around your living space, fireplace or Christmas tree. You will instantly have more seating space—which is especially helpful during holiday dinners or while opening presents—but you won’t have to spend much to get it.

Soft, plush fabrics

Adding to the warmth and comfort of the holidays, an overload of soft, plush fabrics can only help your home during the holiday season. Double up on rugs to greet your guests with a pleasant walking experience, and feel free to switch your current bed linens for holiday quilts or throws for your own enjoyment!

Elements of warmth

If you’re looking to stay warm this holiday season, there’s no shortage of ways to do it. In addition to keeping lots of thick throw blankets out and ready for enjoyment, you can use heated rugs in the bathroom or front entryway. If you haven’t used your fireplace in a while, this is a great time to brush it off and start a fire you and your family can enjoy as a retreat from the chilly weather outside.

Festive lighting

During the holidays, don’t hold back when it comes to lighting! String lights around your stair rail or from your mantel, and use candles or small lamps to add ambiance lighting everywhere else.

Classic decorations

You can’t forget about the classic holiday decorations this season. Break out your tinsel, figurines and kid crafts to add some holiday cheer to your home this year.

Window fun

This holiday season, don’t be afraid to add some festivity to your windows themselves. You can opt for a subtle switch by replacing your current curtains with white, sheer ones to add to the seasonal ambiance—or, for an even more festive look, you can add fake frost to your windows to give them a truly wintry look! (Here in Florida, that’s about as close as you’ll get to a “White Christmas,” so enjoy!)

Themed designs

If you’ve got a knack for collecting holiday themed items, now is the time to put them to good use. You can set up a themed nook of your house full of your favorite decorations—whether they’re Santa Claus figurines, snowmen, reindeer… you get the idea! Show off your holiday spirit by putting your collection on full display.

How do you decorate for the holidays? We’d love to hear about your favorite ideas!
