Having a Florida Sunroom Can Benefit Your Health

We always hear about how good getting a little sun is for you, and it can also be very fun and relaxing. Light tanning, soaking up some Vitamin D, swimming, and getting some well-deserved rest are all things we often do when at the beach or a pool. But did you know that getting sun is good for your mental health, too?

The neurotransmitter “serotonin” is typically produced in the day time, and our bodies can detect that based on whether or not we’re getting sunlight. Serotonin often helps people have feelings of happiness, ease, and well-being – there have been many studies supporting the idea that sunlight can essentially contribute to a person’s happiness or feeling of contentment. In addition, sunlight significantly helps a person’s circadian rhythm, or their biological clock, such as when we wake up in the morning, go to bed at night, when we get hungry and when we get feelings of tiredness. Sunlight has also been used to treat sleep disorders and certain kinds of depression, such as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

Going to the beach or the pool often requires free time or a trip, but with a sunroom or screen room, you can spend time in your own home soaking up the sun while getting some work done or watching your favorite TV show. Sunrooms provide a beautiful and convenient way to get all of the sun you need so you can be happy and stay happy right in your own home.
